JULIA FASSINAThe Gallaugher Bequest Churchill Fellowship to study juvenile justice programs and initiatives in the areas of restorative justice, delinquency prevention, early intervention strategies and juvenile detention centres that are addressing contemporary youth justice and juvenile issues - Italy, Canada, USA
I visited organisations and Juvenile Detention Centres in Canada, Italy and USA that are addressing contemporary youth justice and juvenile issues and studied in the areas of restorative justice, delinquency prevention and early intervention strategies.
The highlight of the trip for me was attending and presenting at the 5th International Conference on Restorative Practices in Vancouver. I received training and education to deliver sessions about applying restorative justice principles in workplace and school environments. Low-light was contracting chicken-pox in Washington and having to endure temperatures of 40 degrees and above. All in all, a worthwhile and educational experience
